Artist's Statement: The urn is a loaded form in two respects, both as a vessel and that its shape echoes that of a woman. While a woman is a vessel for life, an urn is a vessel for death. The depiction of the female soldier loading a rifle is a contradiction, she is simultaneously life giver and life taker. This pair of urns represents the duality of these roles.
