Artist's Statement: "Thirty-Six Demitasse" are embedded in this monolithic structure. The monolith is a memorial, a fossil that symbolizes the departure from shared communicative experience. I made the decision to deny the utility of the objects to evoke the idea of how pots are used by archeologists to gain insight into how a society functioned and its rituals. Pottery that is no longer able to fulfill its intended function provides visual and conceptual value.
