Artist's Statement: Covered Jar 1. The large covered jar is a familiar ceramic form that has been made throughout the ages, and I like to think it contributes to our identity of home. I enjoy the scale of this pot for drawing on and see it as a painting in the round. My surface process involves layers of information and time between the layers, The distortion of the melting glaze and obscured line is critical to the final result.
